Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training combines Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies to deliver a powerful toolset. Vector International’s “Teach-Apply-Review” (TAR) format reinforces key Lean and Six Sigma concepts with an emphasis on application and proficiency development. Furthermore, the weeklong application of tools, through team-based case studies, in class exercises and process improvement simulations, are embedded in every course to develop skills and tool proficiency.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt classroom course is conducted over a two weeks period  with  a total of five (5) contact days ( or 40 contact hours) of in class instructions.  Additionally, course participants are required to complete  team-based problem-solving exercises for an additional 20-25 hours.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt self-paced course offers an engaging, interactive format that stimulates learning through active learning.   Course registrants are given twelve (12) months access to the online course content and are able to pursue the course at their own pace and on their own schedule.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course builds on the fundamentals of the White Belt and Yellow Belt Lean Six Sigma training seminars.  Course participants will finish with a solid grasp of Lean Six Sigma tools and with the ability to apply these tools to drive improvement in critical business processes.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt candidates are fully trained in the Lean Six Sigma methodologies and basic Lean and statistical tools. The certified Lean Six Green Belt professional may lead fairly straightforward projects or serve as a key member on project teams that are led by a Black Belt. Vector International’s Green Belt Classroom Training Course Description:

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course consists of 5 contact days that extends over two weeks.  This training period includes time allocated for assignments, team project work and preparation for individual teach-back exercises. These Lean Six Sigma training exercises and activities are aimed at developing greater proficiency with the use of Lean Six Sigma Green Belt tools and approaches.  Students are expected to budget a minimum of 56 hours when taking this class.

 

Many managers have completed this higher training course and have walked away with increased confidence and a firmer grasp of the basics, allowing them to be able to better apply these important and profitable methods of management. This particular training is also the perfect foundation for those managers and executives who wish to integrate the principles and philosophy of Lean and Six Sigma in all aspects of their operations.

While this particular training is complete in and of itself, it also prepares candidates to pursue the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification level. This next level of training involves three additional weeks of intensive hands-on training that runs over a three month period. Candidates who have not completed the Green Belt level training will complete the Black Belt level program in four weeks that extends over a four month period.

How to Become a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Option 1: Demonstrate technical and functional competence by applying Lean & Six Sigma tools and methodology to successfully complete one project with measurable outcomes.  The project must be approved by one of our Lean Six Sigma Black Belts.

Option 2: Successfully complete the Vector International Lean Six Sigma Green Belt examination.

Option 3: Successfully complete the International Association for Six Sigma Certification’s (IASSC) Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Examination (see IASSC Certification Testing Options). The IASSC examination is an additional cost that is paid directly to IASSC.
